As the Aravod Ensemble celebrates its tenth year together, “Gamar,” which means “Arc,” may be seen as a link to the group’s past, present, and future. Similarly, it represents the mission of the group: to bring people together in mutual love of Armenian and Middle Eastern music. For various audiences throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and around the world, Aravod strives to perform a repertoire that is both familiar and challenging. The influences and directions of the group are ever-shifting and growing, but the connection with tradition is never lost. Rather, the arc between the past and the future creates a new tradition, one which the Aravod Ensemble strives to present and represent.
